#iDR26 International Drug Repurposing Conference 2026

In spring 2026, we delivered our third international drug repurposing (iDR) conference, #iDR26, ‘Navigating the Future’, in collaboration with REMEDi4ALL. The conference was held at Maison de la Poste in Brussels, Belgium from 12th – 13th May.

Plenty of repeat iDR attendees gathered alongside some fresh new faces, with 504 of those joining experiencing their first iDR conference. This global event brought together key opinion leaders, researchers and patient advocates to collectively drive innovation in drug repurposing across Europe and beyond.

Those who came along most valued the ‘networking and knowing I’m not alone’, alongside ‘hearing different perspectives” and learning the ‘broad picture of the drug repurposing landscape’.

Beacon led sessions including Rare I – When is repurposing right for rare diseases, Rare II- New approaches to drive repurposing research in rare diseases, Community I – The community in action, which featured six lightning talks, and the Patient Engagement Panel – Having a drug isn’t enough.

Hear from attendees about what made the conference so special

“iDR is my favourite conference because unlike most events where you leave feeling drained and exhausted, I inevitably leave iDR feeling energised and optimistic about what we can achieve working together.”

“The iDR series is a truly global event bringing together the best of the best in drug repurposing and repositioning, with the patients at the heart of the program.”
