Introduction to fundraising

Welcome to our Introduction to fundraising course!

We know that many patient group leaders don’t have experience with fundraising, but it’s a hat they must wear as Chief Everything Officer (CEO) of their patient group.

Patient group leaders consistently tell us that they find fundraising stressful and difficult.

We hear you and can absolutely resonate with this sentiment – raising money is hard and there are no ‘easy wins’!

We want to demystify fundraising for small charities, so patient group leaders can feel empowered to fundraise for their community with confidence.

Since this is an introductory course, we’ve provided a whistle-stop tour of the expansive fundraising landscape to help you get started.

While working through this guide, we encourage you to strategically think about your resources, time, preparation and return on investment (ROI) when evaluating different fundraising options.

Fundraising requires strategic, organised and realistic thinking and action.

We encourage you to assess which fundraising option is right for you by considering which option you’re most comfortable with pursuing and which option you have the capacity to execute.

It is far better to choose one or two fundraising options to execute successfully than to try to do them all.

We intend to release more in-depth guides on specific fundraising options soon, so please do let us know which guide you’d like to see next in the feedback form at the end of this course!
