The Manchester Rare Disease Showcase
On Tuesday, 8th October 2019, we hosted The Manchester Rare Disease Showcase at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
Over the course of the day, we welcomed more than 100 delegates – including the Lord Mayor of Manchester – to discuss rare disease progress taking place in North West England!
There was a packed (and diverse!) programme of six main stage talks and seven lightning talks, not to mention plenty of time for networking.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. It was your input that made the Manchester Rare Disease Showcase such a success.
What our attendees had to say:
“I enjoyed the talk from patients themselves talking about their stories.
The social side e.g. Breaking down barriers and how some communities are isolated.
I enjoyed the more scientific aspect that talked about research currently happening.”
“I have found it genuinely humbling and eye-opening.
All contributors have been engaging and have given well-presented talks.
There have also been a lot of varied topics covered.”
“The diversity of topics helped make each session relevant.
The stem cell kidney talk was fascinating and understanding the challenges of early access and how to make it happen.
The lightning talks were a great way to dive into an area.”
